Xiaomi recently revealed that its newest budget smartphone, the Redmi A3, will be officially launching in India on February 14, 2023. Xiaomi also shared some initial details about the upgrades the A3 will bring compared to previous models in the affordable A series.
One of the most notable changes on the Redmi A3 is the display. The new phone will feature a 6.71” screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, enabling much smoother scrolling compared to standard 60Hz displays typically found on low-cost phones. The faster refresh rate allows for more fluid animations and experiences.
In addition to the better display, the Redmi A3 will also pack more RAM than its predecessors. It will offer up to 6GB of RAM, plus an extra 6GB of “virtual RAM” provided through software optimization. Earlier A series models maxed out at 4GB, so this RAM upgrade provides a nice boost to multitasking capabilities.

While keeping the same 5,000 mAh battery capacity as previous models, the Redmi A3 makes the modern upgrade to USB-C charging rather than outdated microUSB. Xiaomi also designed an all-new massive circular camera module on the back of the A3, which they are calling “Premium Halo Design” to add some style.
The official Indian pricing for the Redmi A3 will be announced at the February 14 launch event. For reference, the older Redmi A2 launched at ₹6,300 for the 2/32GB model and went up to ₹8,500 for the 4/128GB version. Global availability outside of India is still to be determined.
With upgrades like the 90Hz display, increased RAM, and USB-C charging, the Redmi A3 aims to bring a smoother experience to Xiaomi’s affordable A series when it launches in India on February 14. Full details and official pricing will be revealed at the unveiling event.
