Rumors surrounding satellite connectivity in the Xiaomi 14 Pro have finally materialized, albeit exclusively in the Titanium-clad special edition model. Initially speculated upon, this feature was absent in the models launched in China last November.

The spotlight feature of the Titanium edition is its two-way satellite communication capability, offering a lifeline in emergencies when traditional network coverage fails. Operating through China’s Tiantong satellites, this feature provides users with added security and connectivity beyond terrestrial networks.

Now available on Xiaomi’s online store in China, the Titanium edition is priced at CNY 7,000 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant. For comparison, the standard 16GB/1TB model retails at CNY 6,000, while the base Xiaomi 14 Ultra starts at CNY 6,500. Notably, the titanium variant of the 14 Ultra is priced at CNY 8,800.

Limited Availability and Compatibility
Xiaomi reaffirms that the Pro model will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. However, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, equipped with satellite communication, will have broader availability. Nevertheless, the compatibility with carriers outside China remains uncertain.
