Listen up, Apple Vision Pro owners! Apple just pushed out a new software update that makes it way simpler to reset your headset if you ever forget the passcode.
Introducing VisionOS 1.0.3
This latest update is called visionOS 1.0.3 and includes some important bug fixes. But more importantly, it adds a new option to erase your Vision Pro right from home if you get locked out.

No More Headache Resetting a Forgotten Passcode
Before this, forgetting your passcode meant hauling your $1500 headset to the Apple store or buying a special $300 developer kit just to reset it! Crazy right?
Now though, if you enter the wrong passcode too many times, visionOS 1.0.3 will give you the choice to erase the Vision Pro. Don’t worry about thieves trying to reset stolen units either – the Activation Lock still requires your Apple ID to finish setting up the headset after an erase.
User Experience Improvements
While a pretty simple change on the surface, this passcode reset option greatly improves the user experience in a frustrating situation. No longer do you need to go to extreme lengths to reset a forgotten passcode!
Kudos to Apple for listening to user feedback here. Have you installed visionOS 1.0.3 on your Vision Pro yet? Or maybe you’re waiting for more reported bugs to get squashed first.
