You may remember those images dropping last week courtesy of notable leaker @OnLeaks. But despite the seemingly official look, some little inconsistencies had other prominent voices like @evleaks questioning their legitimacy.

And now Steve himself has walked back the render, admitting it doesn’t reflect the real Phone (2a) after all. Apparently, it was a scrapped prototype for an unreleased Nothing device – no wonder it appeared so polished!

Initially, I had gotten pretty hyped up over that reimagined camera island teased in Nothing’s first Phone (2a) teaser with the “see the world through fresh eyes” tagline. But doesn’t seem we’ve gotten an early glimpse of that just yet.

Kudos to Steve for acknowledging the error here. And lesson learned to take even convincing-looking leaks with skepticism! We still don’t know exactly what aesthetic changes Carl Pei and company have in store for their highly anticipated sophomore release.

But you better believe the hype train will kick into overdrive once we get actual shots of their Phone (2a) design decisions. Hopefully nothing too out there! What are you all hoping to see from Nothing this year? Hit me up in the comments!
