TikTok has launched the first video app for Apple’s new Vision Pro augmented reality headset, beating out YouTube.
While YouTube is working on an official Vision Pro app, it is not yet available. TikTok took advantage of the opening and released its app for Vision Pro today.
This allows Vision Pro users to access TikTok’s vast library of short videos in an immersive 3D view through the headset. It provides a new way to experience the addictive, endless scrolling that TikTok is known for.
The launch is notable given TikTok has beaten both YouTube and Netflix in being the first video platform on Vision Pro. It highlights TikTok’s aggressiveness in pursuing new platforms compared to other leading video apps.

Some analysts think social media apps like TikTok could become one of the most popular use cases for augmented reality headsets like Vision Pro. The technology allows users to feel more immersed in their content feeds.
It remains to be seen how quickly YouTube will follow with its own Vision Pro app. But for now, TikTok has claimed the important milestone of being first to market. It gives the platform an early advantage in reaching Vision Pro’s high-end audience.
