Samsung announced its latest 7.6-inch foldable OLED panel has obtained MIL-STD-810 certification – a US military standard for equipment durability.
This makes Samsung’s panel the first foldable display to achieve this high grade of ruggedness. Passing MIL-STD-810 testing verifies the panel can withstand extreme environments.
To certify, displays underwent tests like functioning through 6mm of ice buildup at -10°C and 2 hours each of -32°C to 63°C temperature cycles. The panel survived 26 4-foot drops and 10.5G of force during high-speed rotations.
