Update for those new Galaxy S24 phones from Samsung: Some early adopters bought the S24 devices last week when they first went on sale. They found an issue with the Vivid screen mode – the colors didn’t seem as vibrant as expected compared to previous Galaxy phones.
Samsung acknowledged there was a problem with the Vivid Mode after multiple reports came in. But there’s good news: according to leaks, Samsung is already working on improving the vividness with a software update.

The update will apparently add a three-step toggle that gives you granular control over the screen’s saturation. The default saturation is more vivid than Natural mode, but still not as colorful as prior Galaxy devices. Sliding the toggle to the middle option will boost the saturation closer to the vividness of the S23 screen. And the highest toggle setting is rumored to make colors even more vibrant than older models!
The toggle will likely be located in the Advanced Display Settings, under the White Balance adjustments. This will allow flexible tuning of how punchy you want those on-screen colors to appear.
Interestingly, these vividness issues don’t seem to be discouraging sales just yet. Samsung has actually increased the Q1 shipment target for the S24 lineup from 12 to 13 million units. Early preorder numbers show the S24 Ultra has been the most popular model so far.
So in summary – a software update is in development that will let S24 owners better customize their screen’s vividness. We’ll keep an eye out for when the update drops! Let me know if you have any other Galaxy S24 questions.
