Samsung has begun the distribution of its specially designed Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to athletes participating in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. This exclusive smartphone, unveiled at Samsung’s recent Unpacked event, is being gifted to nearly 17,000 athletes, offering them a unique opportunity to experience the new Flip foldable before its official market release.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition is more than just a commemorative device. It’s designed to enhance the athletes’ experience during their time in Paris. The pre-installed eSIM with generous data allowance ensures connectivity, while the complimentary public transport access card in Samsung Wallet facilitates easy movement around the city. Additionally, the pre-loaded Olympics apps aim to help athletes connect with others and explore new experiences in Paris.
This special edition continues Samsung’s long-standing tradition of creating customized Galaxy phones for the Olympics, a practice that began with the Sochi 2014 Games. It’s also noteworthy that the Flip6 is the second foldable device to receive the Olympic treatment, following the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G Winter Dream White variant for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
The distribution of these devices ahead of the official market launch underscores Samsung’s commitment to the Olympic movement and its desire to provide athletes with cutting-edge technology.
