Samsung is gearing up to release its much-anticipated Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, but it appears this cutting-edge device will only be available in South Korea and China. Reports suggest that the foldable, initially known as “Q6a,” will be marketed under the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra name.
Evidence and Speculations
According to GalaxyClub, firmware development is underway for a device with the model number SM-F958N, closely related to the Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F956). The final digit signifies the device’s class, while the last letter denotes the region. For instance, “N” indicates South Korea, while Chinese models use “0.”
The SM-F958N firmware is set for country codes KOO, KTC, SKC, and LUC, representing South Korea’s major carriers and an unlocked model. This hints at a targeted release for the South Korean market.
October Launch and Branding Differences
Sources like Allround-PC claim the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra will also debut in China, potentially in October. In China, Samsung’s foldables are branded differently, using “W” instead of “Z.” For example, last year’s Samsung W24 was essentially the Galaxy Z Fold5 but with distinct branding and slight exterior modifications.
Anticipated Features
While specific details about the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra are still under wraps, comparisons to previous models suggest high-end features. Last year’s W24 came with 16GB of RAM, whereas the international Z Fold5 had only 12GB, indicating potential upgrades for the Ultra model.
Future Availability
Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra’s availability outside South Korea and China remains uncertain. Samsung’s upcoming October event, which may also feature the Galaxy Tab S10 series and a new XR headset, could provide further insights. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated foldable from Samsung.
