At Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in January, the tech giant quickly teased an upcoming smart ring device called the Galaxy Ring. Since then, rumors have swirled about when this new wearable would officially launch.
Today, a new report from Samsung’s home country of Korea claims the Galaxy Ring will debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 foldable phones at the next Unpacked event in late July.
The Galaxy Ring is said to feature ECG support to measure heart rhythm, blood pressure monitoring, and NFC payments. The device is currently in the prototyping phase, with mass production scheduled between April and June. Samsung apparently plans to offer the smart ring in eight different sizes.

Apple has also accelerated smart ring development, patenting various features for a potential future Apple Ring product. Currently, the niche smart ring market is led by Oura, who released its first model in 2016. However, the third-generation Oura Ring’s sleep and heart rate tracking features have yet to make rings truly mainstream. With Samsung’s brand power, the Galaxy Ring may finally catalyze mass adoption.
By confirming a late July launch, Samsung looks primed to unleash its take on advanced smart ring technology to the world alongside its latest foldable innovations.
