Thailand’s NBTC agency has officially certified a Galaxy A55 5G model bearing product number SM-A556E/DS. The “DS” designation typically indicates dual-SIM support.

While no further specifications are revealed, we do already know from prior certifications that 25W fast charging and Samsung’s Exynos 1480 chipset look to feature among the phone’s key specs.

With regulatory testing now well underway across various regions, the Galaxy A55 5G appears nearly ready for prime time. Samsung will be hoping its next upper mid-ranger can build on the solid reception of 2022’s Galaxy A53 5G among more budget-conscious shoppers.

Given the phone market’s turbulence lately, delivering ample value and appeal for a reasonable price seems wise. And the A55 5G looks well-positioned to fit that brief once unveiled soon as a solid option below flagship territory.
