Imminent Launch

The Poco M6 Plus 5G has been spotted with the model number 24065PC95I on the Google Play Console. The final “I” in the model number indicates its launch in India. Interestingly, the numbers “24” and “06” in the model number suggest a June 2024 launch. However, it’s worth noting that Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices sometimes launch earlier or later than these numbers imply.

According to the Google Play Console listing, the Poco M6 Plus 5G will feature a display resolution of 1080×2460 pixels. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. These specifications are identical to those of the Poco M6 Pro 5G, sparking curiosity about what sets the M6 Plus 5G apart from its predecessor.

Rebranding Rumors

The Poco M6 Plus 5G is rumored to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13R, which launched in China last month. This speculation is consistent with Xiaomi’s strategy of rebranding devices across its Poco, Redmi, and Xiaomi lines. However, the minimal differences between the Redmi Note 13R and the Poco M6 Pro 5G raise questions about the necessity of launching an almost identical device.

Conclusion

With the Poco M6 Plus 5G’s appearance on the Google Play Console, its launch seems imminent. The device promises to bring familiar features seen in the Poco M6 Pro 5G, but fans are eager to see what differentiates it from its predecessors and its rumored twin, the Redmi Note 13R. Stay tuned for more details as the official launch approaches, potentially unveiling the reasoning behind this new addition to the Poco family.
