Apple has announced that there are now over 1,000 apps designed specifically for their new Vision Pro headset. This announcement came from Greg Joswiak, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Apple.
Joswiak also noted that there are over 1.5 million total apps that are compatible with Vision Pro. The dedicated visionOS App Store has grown quickly since the headset’s launch just 12 days ago.
On day one, there were already over 600 apps optimized for Vision Pro available. However, some key platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify initially said they would not develop dedicated apps. Users would have to access these services through the Safari browser.

YouTube has since changed its stance, revealing that a Vision Pro app is now “on the roadmap.” Some speculate this reversal is due to the headset’s success so far. But missing out on royalties from third-party YouTube apps charging $5 may also be a factor.
A huge thank you to our developers! Their hard work has already resulted in over 1,000 incredible spatial apps designed specifically for Vision Pro, along with over 1.5 million compatible apps. We're thrilled to see how they'll continue to push the boundaries for what’s possible.

In summary, the rapidly growing catalog of over 1,000 tailored apps demonstrates developer enthusiasm for Vision Pro. Apple is seeing strong early adoption of its new headset platform.
