Oppo has updated the Reno12 series for the European market, introducing the Reno12 Pro and Reno12 with new features and enhancements. These models boast a new energy-efficient chipset, AI functionalities, and a unique emergency communication feature, differentiating them from their Chinese counterparts.
Oppo Reno12 Pro Enhanced Performance and Storage
The first notable upgrade is the Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, optimized by MediaTek and Oppo for exceptional power efficiency. Both phones come equipped with 12GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and storage options of 256GB for the standard model and 512GB for the Pro model (UFS 3.1). Expansion is possible with up to 12GB of virtual RAM and a microSD slot supporting up to 1TB.
Display and Build Quality
- Display: Both phones feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution (20:9). They support HDR10/HDR10+ and have a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.
- Protection: The Pro model is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the standard model is the first to use the new Gorilla Glass 7i.
Camera Capabilities
- Reno12 Pro: The Pro model shines with its superior camera setup. It has a 50MP main camera (Sony LYT600), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 50MP portrait cameras—one on the rear with a 2x lens (Samsung JN5 sensor) and one on the front with a wide 21mm lens. Both portrait cameras are capable of capturing shots with soft bokeh and AI portrait retouching, and they can record 4K video at 30fps.
- Reno12: The standard Reno12 has the same main and ultra-wide cameras as the Pro but replaces the telephoto lens with a 2MP macro module. The selfie camera is a 32MP sensor with phase detection autofocus.
AI Features and Communication
- AI Features: Both models are equipped with AI-based features like AI Clear Face, AI Best Face, and AI Eraser 2.0. They also have the AI Toolbox, which includes AI Write, AI Speak, and AI Summary, leveraging Google’s Gemini model.
- BeaconLink: A unique feature called BeaconLink allows voice calls without cellular coverage or subscription up to 200m using proprietary Bluetooth protocols, effectively turning the phones into high-tech walkie-talkies.
Oppo Reno12 Pro Battery and Charging
Both phones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, achieving 1% to 49% in 18 minutes and a full charge in 46 minutes. Note that neither model includes a charger in the box, and while USB-PD is supported, it only charges up to 55W.

The Reno12 Pro is slightly slimmer at 7.40/7.45mm (Nebula Black/Nebula Silver) and weighs 180/181g. The standard model is 7.6mm thick and weighs 177g. Both models are rated IP65 for dust and water resistance.
