At this year’s Mobile World Congress, ZTE’s subsidiary Nubia made its presence known not only with the previously announced Flip 5G but also with a lineup of other intriguing devices. Among them are the camera-centric Nubia Focus and Focus Pro, the budget gaming phone Neo 2, and the music-focused Nubia Music.
While specific pricing and availability details were not disclosed for all the devices, Nubia confirmed that these phones will be available across various regions including Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
The Nubia Focus and Focus Pro stand out with their impressive 108MP Neovision main camera, boasting a large sensor size of 1/1.67” and a wide aperture of f/1.75. These devices sport a classic camera-inspired dual-tone back design, complete with a sizable camera island. The Focus Pro further enhances the photography experience with a sliding button on the side frame for instant camera access and a dedicated capacitive camera shutter. Both phones offer advanced features like in-sensor zoom, RAW HDR, and 4K video recording.
The Nubia Focus features a 6.6-inch (HD+ 120Hz) display, while the Focus Pro boasts a slightly larger 6.72-inch (FHD+ 120Hz) panel. Under the hood, they pack Unisoc T760 chipsets, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and 5,000mAh batteries with 33W charging. Pricing for the Nubia Focus is expected to start from $199, varying by market.
Moving on to the Nubia Neo 2, this budget-friendly gaming phone is set to launch at $199. It offers capacitive shoulder triggers, a 6.72-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and is powered by the 5G-capable Unisoc T820 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Lastly, Nubia Music introduces a unique design with innovative features. While it resembles a standard smartphone on the front with its 6.6-inch (HD+ 90Hz) display and punch-hole cutout, the real highlight lies on the back. Sporting a large DTS-branded loudspeaker next to the camera module, Nubia claims it to be 600% louder than typical smartphone speakers, although specific decibel figures were not provided.
Another notable feature is the inclusion of two 3.5mm headphone jacks, allowing users to share audio with a friend using wired headphones. Powered by a Unisoc SC9863A chipset with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the Nubia Music also packs a 5,000mAh battery. Anticipated pricing for the Nubia Music starts at $149.
With its diverse range of offerings catering to various user preferences, Nubia aims to make a significant impact in the smartphone market with its latest lineup unveiled at MWC.
