The iQOO Z series typically sees new model releases every 6 months. So with that cycle, the iQOO Z9 has been expected to launch around the end of February. While not yet official, strong signs point to an imminent India debut.
The iQOO Z9 recently gained certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards – a required step before a phone can go on sale there. A prior Bluetooth SIG certification also revealed Bluetooth 5.3 support. Of course, 5G connectivity will be included too.
Reliable leaker Digital Chat Station from China has shared further alleged Z9 specs. He claims the phone will have a “1.5K” OLED display, corroborating his previous hints. Additionally, he states the Z9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm.
The leak also points to a robust 6,000 mAh battery. While impressive, this matches the capacity of last year’s iQOO Z8x model.

Interestingly, there were previous rumors that the Z9 would instead use MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 chip. Perhaps the Z9 Pro model may go that route, while the standard Z9 sticks with Snapdragon. More concrete details should emerge soon.
But with India certification passed, the iQOO Z9 launch seems right around the corner. The leaked specs paint a picture of a compelling mid-range device with an advanced display, processor, and battery capabilities.
