Honor’s upcoming flagship Magic6 smartphone is getting a high-end Porsche Design variant, and new details have emerged from a regulatory certification.
Magic6 RSR Model Number Revealed
China’s MIIT agency has certified a device carrying the model number BAL-AN20. This is believed to be the Honor Magic6 RSR Porsche edition based on the naming convention.
Dual SIM and Satellite Connectivity
The MIIT listing confirms the Magic6 RSR will support 5G and dual SIM functionality. Interestingly, it also indicates the phone will feature satellite connectivity.
This could point to emergency messaging features similar to the iPhone 14 series which uses satellite networks for SOS purposes in areas without cellular coverage.
Premium Porsche-Tuned Design
While full specifications remain unknown, we can expect the Magic6 RSR Porsche model to provide a premium redesign of the already impressive Magic6 Pro.
Honor’s partnership with the iconic car brand will likely result in a stunning high-end exterior. Expect luxury materials like leather and unique Porsche design elements.
Launching at MWC 2023
Honor has an event scheduled for February 25th at MWC 2023 in Barcelona where the Magic6 series will be formally announced. This should include the reveal of the exclusive Porsche edition model.
The Magic6 RSR has big shoes to fill following the wildly impressive Magic V2 RSR foldable also co-created with Porsche’s designers. But with satellite connectivity and Porsche’s styling expertise, it’s shaping up to be a flagship worthy of the prestigious branding.
