HMD is gearing up to introduce a new mid-range phone, the HMD Atlas, following its recent release of entry-level models like the HMD Pulse trio and HMD Vibe in the US. The Atlas is set to feature a FullHD+ display and a larger battery compared to its predecessors.
Key specifications of the HMD Atlas include:
- Processor: Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- Storage: 128GB (expandable via microSD)
- Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack
- Display: 6.64” IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and FullHD+ resolution, featuring a punch-hole 16MP selfie camera
- Rear Cameras: 48MP main, 5MP ultra-wide, and a depth sensor
- Battery: 5,500mAh with QuickCharge 4.0+ support
- Dimensions and Weight: 163 x 75 x 8.75mm, 210g
The Atlas, priced at $240, is designed to stand out with its higher resolution display and ultra-wide camera, setting it apart from models like the HMD Vibe, which costs $150 and offers lower-end specifications.
Additionally, rumors from @smashx_60 indicate that HMD has more devices in the pipeline, including the budget 5G models HMD Ridge and HMD Waylay, and the higher to mid-range 5G models HMD Xenon and HMD Skyline. The Atlas itself is expected to be available in Olive Green and will be exclusive to the US market.
If HMD continued using the Nokia brand, the Atlas could be seen as a successor to the Nokia G400, which had similar features but with a slightly smaller battery and slower charging capabilities.
