The upcoming second-generation Google Pixel Fold foldable phone has surfaced in newly leaked CAD-based renders, providing our best look yet at its polarizing rear camera design that controversially dumps the iconic visor.
As initial hands-on images revealed last month, the Pixel Fold 2 looks to feature a rounded rectangle camera island housing two oval-shaped camera lenses stacked vertically. This unusually shaped protrusion abandons the signature visor aesthetic used on all previous Pixel phones.
Frankly, in this writer’s opinion, the new camera layout appears rather unfinished and unrefined. Neither its shape nor proportions seem aesthetically pleasing. Nevertheless, Google seems committed to this bold – if potentially ugly – design departure.

Beyond the camera changes, the leaked Pixel Fold 2 renders showcase the foldable in a Charcoal colorway. They confirm an under-display selfie camera within the main 7.9-inch inner display, while a centered hole-punch houses the cover display’s front-facing cam. Unfolded, the phone measures 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27 mm.
Rumors suggest the Pixel Fold 2 will ship with Google’s next-gen Tensor G4 chipset, 16GB of RAM, UFS 4.0 storage and launch in October alongside the Pixel 9 series. But the leaked renders have already drawn attention, for better or worse, purely for Google’s controversial decision to ditch the iconic camera visor.
