Apple Boasts Improved Longevity for iPhone 15 Battery Life

Posted by

Apple has officially confirmed tangible upgrades to battery lifespan across all four models of its latest iPhone 15 lineup. According to details published on Apple’s battery support page, the iPhone 15 series is rated to still retain up to 80% of its original battery capacity after a staggering 1,000 charge cycles under ideal conditions.

This represents a significant enhancement over previous iPhone generations which were only rated to maintain 80% capacity after 500 charges. Apple attributed continuous advances in battery components and charging hardware that have compounded year-over-year.

The specific testing methodology involved precisely charging and discharging devices 1,000 times to simulate real-world usage patterns. Of course, actual battery wear can vary substantially depending on an individual user’s charging habits and frequency of use.

Additionally, Apple says it is retroactively investigating older iPhone models to quantify how their batteries compare to the impressive longevity of the iPhone 15 range. Still, the 1,000 cycle rating decisively places the newest 2023 iPhones ahead as Apple’s longest-lasting phones when it comes to power pack deterioration over an extended lifespan.
