Android 15 has reached a significant milestone with the release of Beta 3, marking the platform stability phase where APIs are finalized for developers to extensively test their applications. Google plans to unveil one more beta for Android 15 next month before the final release arrives this fall.
Enhanced Passkey UI and Platform Stability
One of the key features introduced in Android 15 Beta 3 is the updated Credential Provider with a streamlined passkey UI. This UI supports facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, or screen lock for seamless authentication. Users can now sign in with a single tap, eliminating the previous two-step process for apps targeting Android 15.
Improved User Experience
Google has also implemented new fallback UI options to enhance user experience. If users accidentally dismiss their passkey prompt, they will receive passkey suggestions in the autofill UI on supported keyboards and dropdown menus.
Android 15 Beta 3 Future Updates
As Android 15 progresses towards its final release, users can expect further refinements and optimizations aimed at improving overall performance and usability.
